- Studies involving Immunodeficiency Virus, HIV and SIV, to define the AIDS pathogenicity and development of therapeutics and candidate vaccines.
- Studies involving Simian Immunodeficiency Virus (SIV) and AIDS to define the pathogenicity and development of therapeutics and candidate vaccines.
- Studies of the nonhuman primate response to HIV-1, HIV-2 and SIV using mutants of the virus with the objective of providing insight into protection afforded by candidate vaccines.
