Animal Technician


Training in the care and procedures commonly required for non-human primates is essential for this position.  Responsibilities will include working with non-human primates, examinations, and technical procedures such as collecting and processing of blood and tissue samples; record, maintain, and compile research data, prepare equipment and instruments for specimen collection and surgery; and other duties as assigned.  Other requirements include basic Internet and computer skills, record keeping skills up to and including GLP level, and AALAS certification at ALAT level is preferred.



Animal Caretaker


Experience with non -human primates and basic animal husbandry helpful but not essential.  Duties include daily care of animals, including cage cleaning, feeding and watering animals, animal room and corridor sanitization. Some weekend and holiday duty is required. Applicants must be able to lift 50lbs.



Research Associate


The qualified candidate will have a B.S. degree or higher in Biology.  The desired laboratory skills are aseptic techniques in tissue culture, sample processing, virus stock generation, and serology and viral load assays for influenza and other viruses.  The job requires the candidate to work with BSL-2 (i.e., simian immunodeficiency viruses) and BSL-3 agents; including those requiring Select Agent permits. Good communication skills and team-oriented behavior are strongly encouraged. This position requires the candidate to undergo a pre-employment check and a full background investigation.
